About Me

LGBTQ+ health. BIPOC health. Alcohol & Substance Use.

I received my doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Oregon. I'm trained as a scientist-practitioner which means that I am both a clinician and a researcher. I'm a full-time professor of Counseling and Clinical Psychology. I also maintain a small private practice that is committed to serving both BIPOC and LGBTQ+ clients. My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, identity development, relationship issues, career/workplace issues, and alcohol and substance use.

My work is heavily rooted in a feminist, multicultural, strengths-based approach. I believe that individuals have an innate ability to navigate difficult situations and sometimes develop negative interpersonal and/or coping patterns in response to the stressors in their lives. My goal in therapy is to help clients develop deeper insight about themselves, how they are in relationship with others, and to recognize patterns that are no longer serving them to be aligned with their core values.

I am trained in a variety of clinical modalities that include Cognitive & Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy. I also have extensive training in Motivational Interviewing.
